Bowl by Miyazawa Yuto 宮澤有斗

RM369.00 MYR

This bowl by Miyazawa Yuto is shaped from clay and finished using a technique that leaves visible traces of hand and kiln — celebrating the natural texture and inherent unpredictability of the material. The surface bears subtle variations in tone and texture that emerge through firing, giving each vessel a unique, organic character. Its simple, unpretentious form makes the bowl versatile — ideal for serving food, holding small items, or presenting as a standalone object of quiet beauty. The tactile surface and handmade irregularities invite touch and presence, bringing warmth and honesty to everyday use.

About the Artist

Miyazawa Yuto, born in 1987 in Mashiko Town, Tochigi Prefecture, grew up surrounded by pottery — his father is also a potter.

He works in his workshop in Mashiko, devoting himself to ceramics with a philosophy grounded in material honesty and reverence for handmade processes.
Using a technique he calls “konjōte,” Yuto intentionally preserves the traces of his hand and the firing process, allowing each piece to develop its own depth and expression.

His bowls, cups, and vessels reflect a balance between functionality and contemplative beauty — humble, tactile, and alive with subtle irregularity, inviting everyday moments to become thoughtful rituals.
