Hōjicha Tea Cup by Richard Manz (Natural White)

RM179.00 MYR

1616 / Arita Japan's Manz Hōjicha tea cup is where Danish minimalism meets Japanese craftsmanship. The teacup's timeless silhouette is based on original sketches by ceramicist Richard Manz and was brought to life by his daughter, designer Cecilie Manz, in collaboration with 1616 / arita japan. Originally known as the "apple cup", the design takes cues from traditional Arita ware, with early versions hand-decorated by ceramic artist Bodil Manz. Each ceramic cup is crafted in Arita, Japan’s historic porcelain capital, with deep respect for ancient ceramic traditions.

Designed especially for Hōjicha—a roasted Japanese green tea loved for its warm hue and toasty flavour—the Manz cup enhances every sip. Its subtly flared lip improves the drinking experience, while the balanced form feels naturally at home in the hand. With a capacity of 150 ml, the cup is ideal not only for Hōjicha but also for other teas, espresso and hot beverages. The glazed teacup is equally suited to festive table settings and everyday rituals.
