Tea Cup & Saucer by Yoshida Naotsugu 吉田直嗣
This cup-and-plate set exemplifies Yoshida’s quiet, minimalist aesthetic: clean lines, calm proportions, and a restrained palette of white. The cup sits with subtle weight and balance in the hand, its form simple yet precise; the saucer complements it with a gently curved profile and a thoughtful interplay of negative space.

Naotsugu Yoshida (b. 1976, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan) is a contemporary Japanese ceramicist known for his minimalist vessels and refined use of black and white glazes. After graduating from Tokyo Zokei University, he apprenticed under master potter Taizo Kuroda before establishing his own studio at the foot of Mount Fuji in 2003. His cups, plates, and vessels are prized by collectors and galleries alike for their quiet elegance, functional clarity, and contemplative presence in daily life.
